UND to co-host North Dakota GIS Users Conference in Grand Forks Sept. 10-12

The University of North Dakota Geography Department — part of the UND College of Arts and Sciences — along with the State of North Dakota and the U.S. Geological Survey are hosting the 2013 North Dakota GIS Users Conference Sept. 10-12 in the Alerus Center, Grand Forks, N.D. The conference is designed to bring together a wide range of professionals, researchers, educators, and students who are interested in geographic information systems and their applications.

You may register online or at the conference.  Events start off on Tuesday at 1 p.m., and run through Thursday at 3 p.m. More information can be found at www.und.nodak.edu/org/urg/index.htm.

The two keynote speakers for the 2013 North Dakota GIS Users Conference are James Fee of Spatially Adjusted and Mark Askelson, a faculty member in the UND Department of Atmospheric Sciences.

Fee will talk about “How to Remain Relevant in the Age of Change, or What GIS Pros can do to Keep Their Skills in Demand;” Askelson will talk about “Unmanned Aircraft: Turning Potential into Reality.”

In addition to the conference co-chairs already mentioned, the conference planning committee comprised the following persons:
